Homeopathy For Animals

What is homeopathy?

Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) founded Homeopathy over 200 years ago. He was dissatisfied with the medical practice of his day (which is still the basis of allopathic medicine today) so Dr. Hahnemann set out to observe nature and to discover the natural laws that govern health and disease.

The principle underlying homeopathy is Similia Similibus Curentur—“Let like be cured by like.” Homeopathy demonstrates that a substance that produces a certain set of symptoms in a healthy person can cure a sick person experiencing those same symptoms. For instance, onions make your eyes water when you cut them. If you have a cold or allergies and your symptoms include watery eyes, the likely remedy to treat your cold or allergies could be Allium Cepa, which is made from onions

Homeopathy is based on treating the whole patient rather than isolated symptoms. Homeopathy uses minute doses of naturally derived medicine to stimulate a person’s (or, animal’s) own life force into healing. Homeopathic treatment is tailored to each person (or, animal). Here, practitioners select homeopathic remedies according to a total picture of the patient, including not only physical symptoms but also lifestyle, emotional and mental states, and other factors.

Homeopathy works the same way for animals as it does for humans. The same remedies, the same doses, and the same potencies. The only difference is you can’t ask a dog is it “a throbbing pain? Or a sharp pain?” or “do you see dots before your eyes? Or, flashes of light?” Instead, we base the prescribing of remedies on the observation of the symptoms and the constitution and behavior of the animal. Plus, in the case of Sequential Homeopathy, a chronological list of traumas in an animal’s life.

Heilkunst Homeopathy

Heilkunst, or the art of restoring health, is the name given by Dr. Hahnemann to the complete system of medicine and health found in his writings, such as, Organon der Heilkunst. Homeopathy is only one part of this remarkable system. Nutrition and the environment is the second part.

Sequential Therapy

Sequential Therapy, or Sequential Homeopathy, refers essentially to the treatment of specific shocks and traumas (mainly drugs, vaccines, surgeries, but also emotional traumas) in a person’s (and, also animals’) life using homeopathic remedies. The traumas are identified by creating a “timeline” and then are treated in the reverse order (backwards from the present, to birth/conception and into the inherited predispositions).

The idea of sequencing began with Dr. Hahnemann. He created several orders of sequencing based on his understanding of disease. Most importantly, he made a distinction between primary diseases with a constant (tonic) nature that then could give rise to (secondary) diseases with a more variable (pathic) nature, and laid down the rule to treat for the diseases of a constant nature first, as this would often destroy the secondary disease at the same time.

Diseases of a constant nature exist in time and space and we can accumulate them over time. Another important sequence is in addressing the archetypal inherited diseases: or, chronic miasms.

The treatment of the primary diseases was based on a form of similarity between medicine and disease that is close to identity and could be termed “homotonic” prescribing. Dr. Hahnemann identified several types of these homotonic diseases depending on their disease origins – those coming from an “irritation” – emotional and physical shocks/accidents; those coming from a pathogen (infectious or pathogenic diseases); and those coming from drugs or vaccines (iatrogenic diseases).

Nosodes/Homeopathic Prophylactics

Immunization Kits for Cats & Dogs

Nosodes are completely safe, easy to administer, and can be given to puppies much earlier than vaccines. Pregnant females can be given nosodes prior to birthing.

The difference between a nosode and a conventional vaccine is that there are no dangerous chemicals and additives in the homeopathic remedy. Nosodes are also given orally whereas core vaccines are injected.

A Puppy/Kitten Kit contains three (3) 1-oz. dropper bottles at 3 different potencies to administer for a specific pathogen (parvo, distemper, etc.). The kit includes written instructions for use. Nosodes for adult animals are given a little differently than for youngsters. Therefore, prices and instructions may differ.

Homeopathic Tausodes

While homeopathic nosodes are made using the pathogen itself in order to protect or treat the disease, a tausode uses the vaccine to make a homeopathic remedy nosode to help “buffer” the effects of the vaccine in the hope of preventing vaccinosis (an adverse reaction to a vaccine).

I have available in 1-oz. liquid dropper bottle:

Canine/Feline Rabies Vaccine Nosode
Canine DHPPI Vaccine Nosode
Canine DHLPPI Vaccine Nosode
